The heart is pumping smoke from over-working, over-loving yet

no embrace, no kiss can show just how much my flesh has sewn itself to yours

in an attempt to put out the fire that we once made.

  1. I love your ekphrastic poem based on the Brassai photo. That is one of my most favorite of his photos. The other one is entitled, “Bijoux” which shows an older woman decked out in outrageous cluttered jewelry.

    1. Thanks Rob. I am a massive fan of his work and this one is my absolute favourite, I know the photo of the woman you are talking about – I hope to achieve that outrageous look as I progress through life.

      1. Right on!!!! Why not? May other people submit poems to this site? I have written some really great new poems. Some are quite obvious LGBTQ-related. I would certainly love to add some of my work here again. By the way, my poetry collection, “Junky” has generated sales in the U.K. and Canada. Thanks again for publishing that poem first in the journal dedicated to Charles Bukowski.
